Green Oreo

Sunny

It is a miracle finding oreo with matcha cream at Yamakawa Super, because it is only available at Parco. And besides, that outlet is extraordinarily quiet, often closed or unattended.

Oreo Bits Sandwich Matcha Cream (SGD 2.20)

Nevertheless, green oreo is seized away. And under good surveillence of the camera, that it is paid for, and not taken off in fury.

Having a closer look, one now notices the keyring symbols on the oreo biscuit.

The signature Oreo biscuit, now in a remake twist in green. Is it still that twist
lick green dunk? It has not much difference to an oreo biscuit, in sandwich, tasting of the normal cocoa softened by some creamy paste. Unless you lick it; or be acute about it, the sweet, almost tasteless cream now has a bitter aroma to it.

P.S. Even though it is not the carbohydrates main green, affecting only the cream of the cookie, yet it is the trademark Oreo (cookie), hence it is also considered everything green.

Sakura Cheesecake

Sunny

For a seasonal time this year, shops are displaying a new box from japan, the spring cheesecake, sakura. Its so pretty that its box is also used as a store display.

Lotte Haru No Cheese Cake (SGD 5.50)

Think of cheese cake, think briegourmetbleusmelly (cheese) cake. Not the usual cheese cake where cheese are added in by pressure to fudge the customer. From the back of the container it says cream cheese, amongst others.

Get ready for a thrill ride. Tame as it looks, with its crystal pink perimeters, it is quite intense for its taste. Look at the burnished top, it is all you can imagine, roasted, crumbly and juicy with moist cheese taste. The second layer of pink is more subtle, sweet, chiffon and dancing on the tongue with mild cherry blossom. If you bite them all at once, the cake will burst out in cheese flavour.

P.S. The differentiated levels of the cake are baked/formulated, exactly like on the packaging of the box. It is not vanilla, strawberry and cocoa, like perceived, but sakura and cheese (baked).

Rainbow Yanyan

Sunny

A happy meal since young, with its container, food and dips. The meiji Yan Yan is the epitome of childhood bliss, in such a simple meal of pretzel sticks (biscuit) and cream.

Yanyan (Tsukebo) (SGD 0.95)

From one's return to the supermarket shelf; 2011, has Yan Yan become like this? Why is it red with an animal on it? Looking at the illustration of the bear with its Yan Yan, it is a pack of coloured little dots. Moving on to the label at the top, it is also an assembly of colourful little dots. Is this the Yan Yan we know?

Uncover the silver foil. You will see three compartments in the set, your food, your dessert and side dish.

Dip them according to the food into the side dish then into dessert; as easy as gravity as chocolate cream sticking on to sprinkles, you will get yourself a rainbow Yan Yan.

Chocolate as we know, but as long as there is shellac/colour/flavouring; we don't care, it is rainbow. Tsukebo stands for dip-stick, the flavour of this biscuit, and the questions on the pretzel are arrowed towards the geography of japan.

P.S. Still talking about the have I taken all the sprinkles/chocolate dip before the biscuits are polished period?

Green and Black lovin' Cupcake

Sunny

There have been many reviews about this place. The branding of the shop prominent, the outlook of the cakes interesting, enough to set people wandering to look for its shop at Tanjong Katong.

There is only one food on the menu, cupcakes, besides a bevy of beverages.

We might have some kind of disdain towards these minimally furnished cafes, extolling only one kind of food. And one of the cupcakes called Adult Chocolate, impersonating japan Kit Kat, or what?

Adult Chocolate and Matcha Marvel (SGD 3.80 ea)

Not only good to look at, it is also good to eat. The cupcakes aren't flaky, but moist with a right amount of sweetness. The adult chocolate tastes like soft pliable brownie, and the hint of "adult" is refreshing like a kiss of grapes.

P.S. The Matcha Marvel is in marvel, not sweet but savoury! The matcha comes in like uji matcha, slow, impeccable and developing the undertones of seaweed. It is creative to be paired with creamy cream cheese. And as for the illustrious topping, its a wonder, the adult chocolate is a dyed hot pink ball of icing, but the matcha marvel is a lump of maltesers. Yum.

Rainbow House

Sunny

To non-crossers of Serangoon Road district, they may also be familiar with this colourful building.

You do not have to walk right into the xystus or the community to have a glimpse of this. This is situated just outside the mrt station.

P.S. The roof dangles are red, yellow, orange, blue, indigo and green. Cheery like kindergarten fences. The pillars are blue, green, red and yellow orange red violet respectively. Do you really need a smoke chimney blue and red, and another one green and blue? Do you really need your door green, yellow, orange and red? Do you really need your patio porch blue and green striped, with red and yellow stripes?

Green Chicken

Sunny

Coming to Little India, one has never imagined there will be green chicken, among its sights and trickling of people.

Yes, the protein poultry green in colour, and it is not because of spinach, pesto, or some basil sauce. The Haryali chicken, the same as the mint sticks found before.

At the bottom of Khansama Tandoori Restaurant, it entices with its colourful chicken, the chickken tikka it has to sell, sitting pretty in little dishes. You can choose to sit al fresco at the first level, or enter into another universe by the hidden stairway.

The second level is totally dark and air-conditioned. The real task comes in reading the menu, where everything is typewritten in another kind of syllable, the indian ahs and rees, poetic and musically beautiful.

Haryali Tikka (SDG 12.50)

It is far more profound than the grand menu found in japanese restaurants. When you thought you know all about rotis, there is the daal, chaat, naan, pratha and rolls. Confusing like a maze, there could be up to thousands of items for sale. The days you don't know whether to choose set lunch, ala carte, or try something else, and not just one.

The tandoori comes all the way behind the menu, and it is not just tandoori, but tandoori non-veg starters and tandoori veg starters. Meat or vegetarian dishes to go with your tandoori, if you decided on grill for today.

P.S. The green chicken tikka is one of the non-veg starters for tandoori. Better than the chicken tikka outside for display, it is a most stunning blue jade green, there is no sauce on it which shows that the chicken is green. The green has already seeped into the chicken, and there is small bowl of mint sauce for dipping.

Bread-mania

Sunny

Once every seventh month of the year, there will be this procedure, of people stacking up in the counters, a little stuffy in the aisles, the building up of atmosphere until the fateful day, BreadTalk's birthday. Or simply, the 'discounts', buy one bun at $1.10, 10 for 10 dollars.

It seems to get bigger every year, pronouncing to everyone in country, when BreadTalk is still relatively young for a company. (11. More to go.)

P.S. An asking of whether we want widow, before it is spotted on the menu.
