Green and Black lovin' Cupcake

There have been many reviews about this place. The branding of the shop prominent, the outlook of the cakes interesting, enough to set people wandering to look for its shop at Tanjong Katong.


There is only one food on the menu, cupcakes, besides a bevy of beverages.


We might have some kind of disdain towards these minimally furnished cafes, extolling only one kind of food. And one of the cupcakes called Adult Chocolate, impersonating japan Kit Kat, or what?





Adult Chocolate and Matcha Marvel (SGD 3.80 ea)

Not only good to look at, it is also good to eat. The cupcakes aren't flaky, but moist with a right amount of sweetness. The adult chocolate tastes like soft pliable brownie, and the hint of "adult" is refreshing like a kiss of grapes.

P.S. The Matcha Marvel is in marvel, not sweet but savoury! The matcha comes in like uji matcha, slow, impeccable and developing the undertones of seaweed. It is creative to be paired with creamy cream cheese. And as for the illustrious topping, its a wonder, the adult chocolate is a dyed hot pink ball of icing, but the matcha marvel is a lump of maltesers. Yum.

Where there are lots of conversation pieces such as Naan Da Yo?, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Bacon, Smart Aleck; BreakTalk and family dresses up as the eccentric character again with seasonal quirks at the end of the year!



Once more BreadTalk and family did not disappoint! Silent Leaf, (in other words 圣诞叶, Silent Night); makes you Merry and ChocoMint. It is a cake shaped in a green leaf. There are also other miniature icing cupcakes and cookies for sale.


Xmas Theme-CupCake (SGD 3.30)

In a matter of 15 minutes and the cake art is done! The bells and snowman are tiny stencils. When you want lots of icing like christmas cookie, but not cookie-based.


Icing so thick, it grows out. A gathering of all the outer coating of M&M'S on a cupcake. The tree serves as a hard base for the soft cupcake.

P.S. Icing as a filling/centre/flavour of the cake. Cake can just be icing and cake/it can be eaten that way.

Green Hokkaido Cupcake

Bread of Life Bakery gave life to our icing flower biscuit gems. Or Hokkaido, you could say, in its similar piped icing sugar frost. Just that they are giant mousses coming in pink for strawberry, yellow lemon, light-brown chocolate and green green tea.

Green Tea Hokkaido Cupcake (SGD 2.00)

We know Hokkaido ice cream's the milk. What about Hokkaido cupcake? Light; chiffon the Asian way we like our cake, breads and sponges. 'Chiffon cake' in a cup, not muffin or cupcake the english way. And because its Hokkaido, one can rests its laurels on light-tasting scented chiffon, and fresh, zesty mousse even if its green tea!

P.S. Though the lemon was also a balmy breeze. And to kill all curiosities on the Hokkaido Cupcake, there is more mousse inside, green like the outside in same giant icing sugar shape!
