Tiger roll, fan roll, marble roll, diamond roll, sarawak roll. Both the swiss(and the world) has become very inventive(towards names). So are the japanese; not to be left behind in any food fads, spawning a painstaking colour roll method to reveal a rainbow sushi when sliced.
Mosaic Roll (SGD 7.50)
So are we, credited here by local bakery chain Polar on the beautiful mosaic (for roll). 'Tiger' skin on the outside; neat pink, green, brown and lemon compartments inside. Bursting with surprise, yes- each sponge basks in buttery, strawberry, pandan, chocolate and vanilla essence respectively!
P.S. So how do you devour this? Like neapolitan ice-cream? Yes and no, I start from the 'tiger' skin, stripping it bare, licking it clean of frosting; on pandan, chocolate, butter, etc, working my teeth to the very strawberry core.
