Shizuoka's caramel & maple- salted "matcha" Pretz

Tokyo Banana, be gone! With the premium Japanese snack retailer ShiokJapan currently located at Orchard Central, you can now keep stock of your banana and Shiroi Koibito. 




Glico Pretz Shizuoka Matcha (SGD 4.00) 

Pretz had edamame, Pretz had edamame beer, Pretz had wasabi. Shizuoka is not the person, but a prefecture that promises green tea. After the edamame and sweet matcha, this is the reason he is offering matcha to you.



Why do we need a map to know the place before eating? The land where matcha is their chocolate, broiled, beaten, glazed, sautéed. It is missing if it is not the sweets to add to salt mounds and pretzels. Matcha from Shizuoka, the green is from matcha and the glorious egg yellow is from saffron yellow, exactly how he hands them lime green and lemon yellow Pretz sticks out.

P.S. How about an Ehime orange or Pinkan mikan? The matcha was actually the sweet factor, striking on a salted Pretz background, or perhaps that's Shizuoka matcha.

Just us milkin' our favourite drink, Calpis.



Doing the thing with melon soda or Hawaiian-gifted mocktails. The past years there had been a food engineer reassembling snacking, which is the ice. First spotted in Oreo's blueberry ice cream cookie, a telltale sign in Aero Bubbles, and then in Collon's ice cream flavour. Dive into the ingredients, what cold has gotten inside its head?

... L-tartaric acid. Or the acidity regulator. Advent of the umami its tsunami for a new sensation-menthol/mint/airy or the cool?



Perfectly baked Collon-watermarked biscuit, and a citrus smell to the usual Collon strained mousse filling. 

P.S. The cuppa that defined our Japanese dining and merriment of the yesteryears. Do tell me why it is in our colour now. If one hadn't mistaken one would have thought it was in its suspectible blue or turquoise specials. This is because the Japanese are proud of their melon and melon soda.

Glico Thai Pocky Blueberry (SGD FOC)


Glico has toyed a few with it. The Tsubu Tsubu, meaning flakes of the blue berry, the Bits (blueberry), the real blue China blueberry, Pocky Blueberry, but this one you are attempted to sample the berries because the sleekness has rendered them palatable different from the other purpleberries subsidiary in desserts and with real blueberry flakes.



Is essentially what one consumes every morning which is great nested with some gruel or dairy and there are specks of the real one on it.

P.S. Blue or purple? The purple which can not be told purple or pink. The green which could not be told blue or green. That perpetual cat and mouse game with the musty berries, to present as it is or it named; why, nature send us a blue flower.

Snow white- cookies'n'creme queen from Pepero

Looks hopeful due to the Pocky Chocolate Banana. Or Pocky Panda. Dark coloured lumbers or the base which is set cocoa.



Lotte Pepero White Cookie (SGD 1.50)


Lotte appears to be too. Cream on a fancy black stick. However when Oreo gets fashioned into Pocky morphs it is the other way conversely. Cookies get stuck dunked into a bed of white, when tossed into milk.



The cookies behave like crush, as in Pepero Almond or Pocky Bits series. One now pardons it as white cookie or white chocolate fitted into the frame of a Pocky. The white chocolate/white cookie/milk is interchangeable and overpowering with vanilla which the whole cookie can be said to taste of Oreo the sandwich cookie.

P.S. Cookies and cream/creme is such a pimp and princessy title one imagines black diamonds gleaning from an opaque 
background. How Hershey's had been the spearhead. Because we remember there is no creame if without the cookie.


Tropical paradise for winter- Pocky mango & pineapple

You know one is not a fan of orange. Not the cosmic yellow, happy all-teeth and smiles, sunshine kind.

It is seeded with some attractiveness, there. A we want to see mango, and a been a while no see pineapple. Cocktailic pineapple to stitch up any shortcoming of mango. The foods in orange are always sweet, a need for sakura's replacement?

P.S. It not only promises orange, but magnolia, garlands and lens flare. An all-rounded rainbow orange. There was a time one wanted to narrate the entire history and processions of yuzu. Just, one time.


(?)fishy pink- Canada's Goldfishes Vanila Cupcake

So pretty right. (Yup we know the whalehead has been staring at us for months already. Onto tram, coach, taxi, planes, foot, camerabag, whatsoever. Almost batteredbeer.)

Why it is in French and sakura is because tiny view from a hamster, the confetti from the cupcake in Montreal are totalitarian and sexist, it is pur pink(!). Hence the fish gets rubbed in shiny scales of rogue pearlized sugar. {Our memory foam pillows recall goldfish snacks quad-colour (in blue, green, orange, dark red), somehow here, here, and a missing here.} 

P.S. Reading, it is FRUIT AND VEGETABLE JUICE CONCENTRATES FOR COLOUR PINK- they are thanking radish, pumpkin, tomato, apple, sweet potato, cherry. Baked with real vanilla extract*. No wonder a marked pink singled out for sprinkles on your cupcake to discriminate. It tastes no dissimilarity from the peas in the pod of tropical vanilla fish, {grahams, yes when they are sweets no more crackers} but now you know the difference flashing pink.

Matcha connoisseurs are acute, assertive than ever in this age of rapidly reviving consciousness. Breadth-wise, in the ruthless pursuit to secure matcha, that can once again hit the sweetest spot, like aficionados susurrating; length-wise, matcha getting more and more zany. Green, the revolution causing grave disturbances to the scene, you cannot be perturbed or unaffected by the presence. 


Shall We? Glico Matcha (SGD 6.00)


Glico also scores hard quelling that. After Pocky, Kit Kat Matcha Latte, Ginza sweet Uki Matcha, Pocky Midi Matcha, Fujiya LOOK Matcha Parfait, Glico calls for a reform with traditional hand-baked cookie, laced generously with heaps of matcha equally traditional how Japanese grandmother would prepare. The wide on the eye, disappearing in the mouth cookie. With luxuriant growths like gilded brass on the package, Glico uses traditional to pitch against the other quirky matcha. But the Shall We?- a wet blanket(?)[haha]. It's the notion of raising tea glasses to toast to elevenses, says the Glico, Colonial or benign Japanese way. 


There it emanates a sweet, grassy small. Reminiscent of shortbread's stature, but sandy and buoyant, sharply giving away what Glico would want. 

P.S. Shall We?- the thinking of hopping onto a boat does not confine to the green tea. So romance is not all green. The Shall We also include others like butter, (probably where it originated from) and chocolate chip macadamia. 

Collon and dimples- the gold sash for Glico

One has not forgotten. The pack of bliss compacted, rolled up, vanillin compressed, or curled up under your fingers, the eggy biscuit, either way you see it. The splay of tiny tumblers, Glico Collon.  


Strawberry(?) or chocolate. And cream flavoured egg roll. In glico over 40 years in Singapore, thaiglico comes in polka dot prints, and strawberry. The classic biscuit roll design had no smiley faces.

The brown coat, toasted, more than usual was plain, less complex. Like unflavoured Hong Kong egg roll. The strawberry cream curdled, flat. Still, a strawberry collon crisp and soft in one, not sure to have the tube in half or whole. 

P.S. Glico {Pocky, Hello Panda, Pucca} has been around for 4 decades. It emerged from the cookie competitors with its uniformity in standards and optimum surface-to-volume ratio confectionery. The 40 years veil highlighted the strawberry, how the creme blended in with the pink, how we would (go for chocolate or cream), but thankful for this mediator, it was the only colour tided through the earthly cream and chocolate and almond.

   

Matcha latte- Drink in a cookie

The superb glossy and heavily textured foil, making you feel like the clover, St.Patrick's Day todayeveryday. And the lime green dots, matcha (tea)-sampling had never been such a prismatic kaleidoscopic experience.



Blanchul (SGD 2.90)

France and Japan again, the Blanchul biscuit cookie. Which strikes me of the Sailor series, mini mint coins punched in upright portraiture, each like tiny landscape painting, biscuits and chocolate in the image of a fort.


These too, but nothing was quite much an astonishment in the profusion of the laying of the chocolate (white), such a slab in between the cookies that it is a tart, a mont blanc, a pastry. Ready-to-melt green tea chocolate squares in between thinly-sliced crispy sandy cookies.

P.S. Chocolate brows exquisitely dancing over a pattern, it is like chocolate painting over the biscuits, the source uncannily resounding of latte art and a dream of the swirl of matcha latte, the perfect brew of fresh matcha leaves {taste} and milk (in a cookie sandwich). Break open that matcha chocolate bar to cookies (individual).

Ohio Oreo- Soft Oreo by matcha

Looking at the blue rims of the Oreo brand, there are green strips on it. Bespeaking something.


It has even decided not to bake, now an adulterated, alien, softcookie(form). It can not be Oreo now.


Nabisco Oreo Softcookie Maccha (SGD 2.80)

Hypnotizing into thinking that its a brownie, the infusion of matcha, largely, would make the rest have an inkling to (might as well), head on on a deranged trail. Without the matcha, there seems to be no inclination to do it.

P.S. One of the more fancy Oreo biscuit, showy like bird-of-paradise. It is green. It blazes into a new colour spectrum. The "biscuit" slices are so thick and powerfully soft, one sinks one teeth into heavy loaded cocoa; reminiscent of Oreo cookies, and the Oreo moment does not disappear so quickly.


Nabisco sandwiches - nothing b(i)ts

Like with digestives, oreo, the 3 big confectionery giants decided to descend to greatness, and trading all they had their top-selling creme for an otherguess center. We still recognise it as clearly Ritz.



Ichigo Cracker (SGD 2.65)

Nabisco hallucinating if we started out as pink, not cheese or lemon, where we would be at today? The ichigo mini venting out some of these thoughts, unrestrained. Poppish pink to encrust the luxury of a fantastical assumption.



Cheese and its salted pretzel. Both going towards the savoury side of the spectrum. Now ichigo crackers, is it a paradise of strawberries and cheese, savoury sweet like -berry cheesecakes? Not really. The salt-grained biscuit remains, while the cream is sweet with a hint of strawberry in it.

P.S. Ritz and strawberry clashing, though one is still ruminating about the cheese, it is not strawberry cheese cream, yet this sweetest version of the Nabisco Ritz bits had washed off the tough, straight and red packaging of the Ritz cracker- it only looks special like this (in pink) because it Is Ritz.

The Asses- S for Strawberry

Restricted time only, a glimpse of the reined, thrill. When its the silky urbane confectionery Couque D'asses; worth exploring for for its texture and interior, now that it has called for a change in décor.


Sanritsu Kukku Dasse Ichigo

White chocolate, or the "s" in a brown shade. The langue de chat cookies in bars of cat tongue shapes made novel by the japanese's commentary on the french almost became a license in itself, like the Oreos or Mars bars. With its ultra sleek packaging, it is a catchable brand amongst the other cookie companies, now compelling to know why it wanted to melt that s into pink.


An even more lofty look, etching the season of ichigo. A harmony of the weak and tough, when it is a blend of strawberry chocolate.

P.S. French classic, the compressed version of a financier, or an imitation of it. Buttery and salty and equally hard on the vanilla glaze, it is lighter and more easily snapped like honeycomb. The filling is runny chocolate, strawberry flavour and sweet-smelling like flowers, to be hallowed as a financier-in-a-biscuit.


Ad♥ré berry much- Heart-shaped pocky

The pocky strawberry this season looks extra-valentine! For some reason the new layout seems to have something uncanny about it.


Something about the cutout of the center peach-shaped; the strawberry (note the one at the bottom left-hand) mutated, (and the pocky themselves?), looking like a pair of smiling birds on flight.


Pocky Tsubu Tsubu (SGD 3.85)

Despite being pocky tsubu tsubu. Tsubu tsubu is like chunky peanut butter, or almond crush ice-cream sticks, where this time it is the remnants of berries dried and stuck on the stick. Some riddling texture while consuming the strawberry flavour stick.

P.S. Open up and see the cross sections yourself. Why must it be pocky tsubu tsubu strawberry, pink, and not pocky chocolate, for heart shape.




Sweet mint breaths - mini green cream McVities digestive

These are small, green, mint, and digestive (McVitie's).


"Meiji" McVitie's Sweet Mint Biscuit (SGD 2.20)

The oreo comes in so many fashions- the bite-sized, the triple-thick cream, the recognisable foil bag wrapper holding a multitude of them inside. Fun; and inviting to have a lunch-bag of them at a go. So must ritz (Cheese Crackers) and even McVitie's digestives now in this form of a tactic.


So imagine the grandiose Digestive cookies, in the chic form of a mini, plump around the rinds with a drop of cream inside. Shaking off the serious stature of a sweet-
meal digestive cookie. Furthermore with invention of green cream (sweet mint) inside.

P.S. The biscuit does not taste earthy of the brown-meal of a digestive biscuit, it is smooth and lightly dusted with cocoa. Taking it in a bite of the sandwich cookie it tastes like english peppermint chocolate, the pale turquoise cream exuding the sweetness of mint.


Colour (and Ca2+) me crazy- Baby {Kidorikko} Biscuit

Finally, the stash in the larder only has one left! [Exp: 2012]



Baby teething biscuits. Non-(bland tasting) as opposed to how they look. They usually encroach in the system of reversal, the fondness and reverie of it imploring grown-ups to buy and eat.


Bourbon Kidorikko (SGD 2.35)

These are bought, products of mass-production and not hand-baked. Surpassers of feasibility and practicality tests. Insistence and allure of the store-found.

P.S. The pig, seal, puppy, rabbit, koala, fish, happy turtle, duck, alligator. Like join the dots for tots' exercise, this one's fill in the colouring page (inventively). They are dense, intense, sweet and buttery. The pink parts a tangy, sourish tone, slightly more crisp towards those of an icing base. Same with the green, or hallucinated as sweeter? A side-note are the fillers {colours}, read as caramel, red beet, gardenia, safflower yellow, carotene in the ingredients list.

P.P.S. Though, the cat, as noted on the yellow side of the cube, and a chick with green wings are missing in the total assortment of animals. 50%, 500mg of your Ca2+ intake for a day.

Giant and Rainbow, Pocky

Glico pocky engaging in the extreme- upsizing the size, and applying an applique similiar to the Rainbow Paint Brush and Rainbow Negg(?) in Neopia; ultimate chimera.


Glico Giant Rainbow Pocky (SGD 7.90)

The ratio of the pretzels to cream is more favourable; the biscuit sturdy, and crunchy. They are perfect companions for the cream and gently savoury.


Red, orange, yellow, blue, green, violet, pink, simple. The coordinated flavours (and their colours). You can make it a 100% correct too.
But what about red, {what about the red}. Pink (should be) strawberry, so what is left for it.


Brain-racking or foil-tearing, it is the rudimentary chocolate. {Red, for original pocky}. With their thick and soft edges, they look like crayola in their larger-than life-tones.

P.S. The grape tastes like sucrose, mildly dilute, while the strawberry is richer like dairies and cream. The orange had the acrid edge of an orange's skin, intense and good, and the lemon is sweet, perky with lime aroma like pastille spray. The matcha tastes like candy, decorated with a little bit of that exotic grassy edge, and finally, the chocolate is rich, dark, velvety; epitome of a pocky chocolate. The outright one is the blueberry, so amorphous, tasting like icing, sweet yet not exactly.




Green Oreo

It is a miracle finding oreo with matcha cream at Yamakawa Super, because it is only available at Parco. And besides, that outlet is extraordinarily quiet, often closed or unattended.

Nevertheless, green oreo is seized away. And under good surveillence of the camera, that it is paid for, and not taken off in fury.



Having a closer look, one now notices the keyring symbols on the oreo biscuit.



The signature Oreo biscuit, now in a remake twist in green. Is it still that twist
lick green dunk? It has not much difference to an oreo biscuit, in sandwich, tasting of the normal cocoa softened by some creamy paste. Unless you lick it; or be acute about it, the sweet, almost tasteless cream now has a bitter aroma to it.

P.S. Even though it is not the carbohydrates main green, affecting only the cream of the cookie, yet it is the trademark Oreo (cookie), hence it is also considered everything green.
