Padang pandan- green blade of home @ Yami

Summer

Hardcore g r e e n. Perfectly alright even if we did not traverse into the green tea. One of the less represented in a green; because it is a natively produced flavour, how envelope-pushing contemporary ice-cream parlours would want to make a statement by wiring it into their strain. The local vanilla. Pose with me the doe-eyed wonder panda sweetness pandan.

Pandan (Regular) (SGD 2.30)

A pretty seafoam green. {Always a sting to the heart.} Pandan, the non-kaya (kaya is coconut jam), non-jam, non-egg, non-coconut, this odd extract of a plant? You could feel the tendrils of the cooking aroma coming towards you, against the flash of a sourish yoghurt.

P.S. Local rose, bandung. Local vanilla, pandan. Yami Yoghurt projects to you, when was it the last time you had relived the full glory of stuffing a pandan chiffon in your face? A dessert. Or pie or cake or bread or muffin. Has anyone ever spanned a web on all the flavours of Yami Yogurt? The range of fruits and plants in yoghurt.

Corny or what?- yellow, yellow fellow from Yami Yogurt

Cloudy

Anything is possible. Upon first grazing the yogurt, corn. They are all linked together in a complex, omniscient way- it has been established.

Corn (Regular) (SGD 2.30)

The bystanding face and price tag for years, it still stayed.
Corn a fruit, vegetable grain in yogurt?  Dessert- custard/corn pau, ice kachang, sweet corn you add to tapioca, coconut. The sulfur yellow kernels you'd pick from your serving plate.

P.S. No unfamiliar, it is like ice dessert roped in with a strain of corn. The taste of corn, faint, shadowed by the natural culture's frozen texture later, you forget that the lemon chiffon yellow's corn. Only towards the end the husky taste of the grain resurfaces a bit, corn

Yammy (Yami)- can't stop hamming about it

Sunny

Exclusive to the month of March is the groovy line-up of winter melon, peach, yam and natural for the flavours in Yami Yogurt. Yourmy table plants, where your profound trepidation and transfixation for them can not only be expressed in hot plate meals, but also in desserts, and this is not a scene from a vegetable market, but a desserts stall, like the eastern bubble tea shops. (Yam, and wintermelon tea). Descent from the chopping board.

An act of kindness to your body (yogurt), it is a feast for the king. Fresh, unadulterated toppings unveiling fruits, cubed watermelon, peach, strawberry, papaya, kiwi, raisins, nuts cashews, walnuts, pistachios, almonds, peanuts, crushed peanuts, trail mix, to grains sunflower seeds, cornflakes, granola, Honey Oat Crunch, Banana Nut Crunch, Fruity Pebbles, or oreo, chocolate, marshmallow, chocolate rice to enrich your purchase. Infinite as the night sky on the possible permutations with main dish, pardon me, would the toppings come in limited editions too(?).

Yam (Regular) (Small) (SGD 2.30)

And on the drear fear of the week, mash of yam. Stunning when handled in the regions of savoury, launching a thousand ships driving Singaporeans into a feeding frenzy on the perfect grated sweet potato, fries, pumpkin, carrot, or tofu fries, how will it be when poached sweet, sucked dry of of its starchy sugars, an umami meltdown? Yam seems to garner more fame than the midday spud potato when used in sweetmeats. The savoury yogurt which is not chives or caramel sea salt but a low(er GI), low-carbohydrates collection, by the defiant Yami Yogurt. There is a hint of ham, nuttiness and sirup between the delicate balance of sweet and salty in this ice-blended yogurt, tinged with a pale purple.

P.S. Even if it is high-key white, mildly grey. It is a highly unusual light blue or gray of the grapes or boysenberry {Yami Yogurt}. Startling as to just how many of them could be processed in a blender. One of it again, {even though I had said to stop}.(?)

Smurfers delight- Galactica blue @ Yoghurt Plus

Night

Bubble Gum, Cotton Candy, Curacao blue, blue raspberry. It is not the first time one sees such aficionado blue in ice-cream parlous already, however as long as there is a story behind it.

A cultural context, a background, to the cutting, colour of the outfit. Even though it is blue, (carbon copy bottles) or not, there is a symbolic significance attached to it making it worth the consuming. The fiction of the Smurfs, like the adamance of the confirmation of the Santa Claus and the make beliefs it exemplifies.

(Small) (SGD 3.50)

So how did the blue blood {of (the) Smurfs'} taste like? Upon initial (taste palate's) activation, the yoghurt was like kiwi, like mocktail, like dragonfruit sourish. However with sampling till the core the fruitiness was overtaken by a sweetener- of birthday cakes, of sugared muffins, the familiar taste of creamers that arches over things with a sweet end.

P.S. Something about Yogurt Plus is that the yoghurts are not frozen yoghurts, but more like chilled dairy. Milkshake so thick that does not give you the brain freeze, you should try it (even) for the normal chocolate, which does not give you ice blisters. Another thing is that the yoghurt leaves you with blue lips, or more specifically a lavender rose after stained with your (red)lips. Which reminds of the extraterrestrial encounter one first had with a space-blue jelly at the end of a buffet, an impression so deep that it has left a subconscious penchant for all things blue (artificial colourings or not), that one may not admit it or chase for it.

Pink slosh

Sunny

It has gone through many stages with us. The weird, like the orange; the wacky, like the macadamia nut; and the funny, like the winter melon. After a few rounds from candyland and back, it is back to a more simple, tranquil point.

Strawberry (Left) and Peach (Right) (Small/Regular) (SGD 2.30 ea)

A lovely pink colour in an equally comforting flavour, strawberry, and the longest standing flavour besides original for Yami Yoghurt, peach. Their fruity nectars so tried and tested with the tartness of frozen yoghurt that one does not raise any doubts or opinions on these flavours. Also, at the the strawberry's pink and the peach's peach.

P.S. The only time where the entire cup is doused in one colour, and it gets away, being that, existing in another hue. Yes, like the famous strawberry milk, swishing at its edges in pink, if not it would be too startling in a complete white colour. The smoothie's effect, on us, alleviating our hostility to colour.

Lime Yogurt

June 1, 2010

Ever since it became a fruit orchard, Yami Yogurt has downsized its helpings; a minute plastic for me to do a free taste-test every week!
From the grape(cat's eye-gray, titration-colour of Methyl violet!), guava(candy floss pink), lemon lime(shocking green), durian(yellow), to blackcurrant, raspberry, honeydew, rambutan, cranberry, kiwi, green apple and tangerine today!

Lemon Lime (Regular/Small) (SGD 2.30)

Lemon and lime, clearly lime was the winner here. Our daily bread Original with a mellifluous kiss of lime; less of tarty, and less of a yellow appearance. The arches we are so used to on the dairy; graceful from every angle now assimilated with lemon lime!

The Original, one bypasses the grey. Lemon Lime, it is green. I did not know that shadows could be green.

P.S. To think that there are still so many fruit flavours to be found, despite fruits existing in the first place. And that each fruit flavour will not ripen; uniform in colour from cup to cup. I did not know that shadows could be so beamy.

Kaleidoscopic Yogurt

May 27, 2010

Not a rainbow, but one seen collectively. Into the mechanical age, black and whites are added into rainbow.

Frolick buttons that makes both its wearers and frozen desserts cool.
Why? Because colour is used as a subject for both.

Original with 2 toppings (SGD 6.70)

Fruity pebbles and retro flower flumps, they stand out from the toppings in Yami Yogurt{not having the latter}, Yoguru(fresh, natural toppings), OiO(pronounced as oh yee oh, haven't tried that before) and Yigloo(buffet toppings without the latter).

UNITED COLOURS OF FROLICK. The only occasion where polychromatic cups are available for yogurt to be contained in equally-rainbow toppings. Here, rainbow comes in 2 entities; retro flower flumps- big little princess' fantasy(baby blue and light pink is our World), fruity pebbles- the usual undelectable cereal grains now blue-blooded, holding a silver spoon
in the mouth when staining my milk/frozen yogurt
rainbow.

P.S. Yigloo Oryior- yogurt becomes funny with too many toppings. Cereals on milk; has the frozen solids been predisposed as milk too? 5, 6, 7, 8=unlimited toppings we could have just eaten them off al carte. (We don't dunk cereals into ice-cream) anyway. At most, ice-cream is piled on granola the parfait way.
P.P.S. Frolick's cup is at most a kaleidoscope of colours. A rainbow's got to emblem some form of a world, besides having colours.

Green Yogurt

April 26, 2010
Bursting, natural cultures was sought. Past the parlour, this green ware was found. Green or orange? I got mixed up on its usual design; the image portrayal by Yami Yogurt.

Yami Yogurt (Regular/Small) (SGD 2.30)
Nevertheless, I packed a cup. Normally I would settle for Marigold's natural or Paul's natural-set greek yogurt, but without the setting sun one would notice the beauty of the gossamer clouds in the west. Frosty must be the 5th taste on the tastebuds because icy as it is; somewhat the flavours consolidated and gave off an aura on its own. Its no longer sweet but frosty?

P.S. Did you notice that English certifies four tastes: sweet, sour, salty and bitter? It misses out on spicy.
P.P.S. Perhaps sometimes betwixt bites/snacks we are actually craving for frosty. The green spoon dyed the carbohydrate original lime so I had to log it in.
