Shizuoka's caramel & maple- salted "matcha" Pretz

Sunny

Tokyo Banana, be gone! With the premium Japanese snack retailer ShiokJapan currently located at Orchard Central, you can now keep stock of your banana and Shiroi Koibito.

Glico Pretz Shizuoka Matcha (SGD 4.00)

Pretz had edamame, Pretz had edamame beer, Pretz had wasabi. Shizuoka is not the person, but a prefecture that promises green tea. After the edamame and sweet matcha, this is the reason he is offering matcha to you.

Why do we need a map to know the place before eating? The land where matcha is their chocolate, broiled, beaten, glazed, sautéed. It is missing if it is not the sweets to add to salt mounds and pretzels. Matcha from Shizuoka, the green is from matcha and the glorious egg yellow is from saffron yellow, exactly how he hands them lime green and lemon yellow Pretz sticks out.

P.S. How about an Ehime orange or Pinkan mikan? The matcha was actually the sweet factor, striking on a salted Pretz background, or perhaps that's Shizuoka matcha.

Ice my co(l)lon- Glico's Collon (ice) Cream Soda

Sunny

Just us milkin' our favourite drink, Calpis.

Doing the thing with melon soda or Hawaiian-gifted mocktails. The past years there had been a food engineer reassembling snacking, which is the ice. First spotted in Oreo's blueberry ice cream cookie, a telltale sign in Aero Bubbles, and then in Collon's ice cream flavour. Dive into the ingredients, what cold has gotten inside its head?

Glico Hie Shuwa Collon Cream Soda (SGD 3.50)

... L-tartaric acid. Or the acidity regulator. Advent of the umami its tsunami for a new sensation-menthol/mint/airy or the cool?

Perfectly baked Collon-watermarked biscuit, and a citrus smell to the usual Collon strained mousse filling.

P.S. The cuppa that defined our Japanese dining and merriment of the yesteryears. Do tell me why it is in our colour now. If one hadn't mistaken one would have thought it was in its suspectible blue or turquoise specials. This is because the Japanese are proud of their melon and melon soda.

Live, Laugh, Love, Joy- Y(u)m?-@ DeliJoy

Sunny

Humble abode, daily rack, we can still afford to have our blue roll dream, or that, or this.

Yammy Bun (SGD 0.70)

Crumb of the soft bun as purple as what it is, yam. Like a rabbit with its all-carrot meal, because we are humans we need to have our fix all violet tubers meal.

P.S. No wonder there is a certain friendliness to the brand. Delijoy, known for its fluffy buns sending some of the love to the west. Kissing them making them blush or lilac now.

Eni beani mini mo- itsy mini beanie@ Jurong Point

Sunny

How many ways are there to eat pancake? Mr Bean commands the water slide and splash fashion, where the dip becomes the filling for an unstuffed Mr Bean pancake, and the topping is the beans of the bean bag. Ever since it poured into Vietnamese coffee, and all-time favourite soya porridge with youtiao, it is no exoticism you are going for beanies at Mr Bean.

Mr Beans are running amok at the Jurong Point outlet. Pancakes have been morphed into mini beanies, which are downsized version of the usual Mr Bean pancake. They are fried in the cabinet as Mr Bean's pancakes, and there are 2 flavours to choose from to make them less plain. 1 flavour as dipping sauce, the other, topping.

Mini Beanies (Regular) (8 pcs) (SGD 2.90)

The babies in a regular bento box as pieces of 8. Lookout takeout, a scoop of green tea custard as the dipping sauce side, and a bed of rainbow rice as topping dessert. This is how you'd enjoy a mini beanie.

Poster girl of Mr Bean. They actually pop out alive from the advertisement spread, that means it works. So are the rest of the chili crab, hazelnut chocolate paste, viscous sticky peanut butter, nacho cheese cup, caramel custard pot dipping sauces to talentedly mop your selected yes leftover crumble potato chips, cashew nuts (ice cream bar) crush, oreo or mini roasted buckwheat puffs on healthy cream puffs topping. Just that we haven't tried them out, Mr Bean had sounded it out.

P.S. No wonder they are regulars. There is half of the green tea flavoured custard left after using, enough to spread 2 slices of bread. Mr Bean, why no green tea or green tea custard pancake? Our favourite Mr Bean pancake might be the chili crab, hazelnut chocolate not hazelnut praline or hazelnut royale, peanut butter, nacho cheese pancake. It was difficult to tell whether the Mr Bean's custard brightened up the green tea or vice versa, either way, the custard was delightful and mellow. Of course it is the pellets in the stuffed toy, the toppings that makes it to the cover as Ms/Mr Bean, why the dips had more sweets varieties less was what was illustrated red, pink, orange, yellow, white, green but red, pink, yellow, white, green, blue. That sweetest of all.

Toast is greener on the other side-@ Toast Box

Night

Not just "greener". But thicker. To an extent it is cuboid/pyramid/cylinder.

Going bananas, bananas gone unripened. Or elusive as the queenly papaya, gem of the hot popular Thai dish. When it is first presents itself in the smorgasbord with orange banana cake, banana cake, chiffon roll. As Toast Box becomes snazzier, along with chee cheong fun and muffin tops atop breakfast staples.

Pandan Cake (SGD 1.20)

Instead of butter, help yourself with a lump of chinese/Nanyang vanilla next time.

The fragrant grass or juicing, kaya is pandan with coconut remember, it appears in local porcelain crucibles brewing kaya jam and soggy eggs, almost impeccable. The cake holds a bounce to it, though the essence of pandan may not be garden-fresh, but sweet.

P.S. What sums up joyful simplicities. The incessant chatter of pandan\kaya\toast\butter_cream on a plate, new original pandan cake brings us back to the teaone on Toast Box again or this.

Bean('sfan)tastic rainbow mille crepe@ Teddy & Me

Cloudy

Unicorn and hologram material, that's what is inside the glass capsule. You poke your head around and this cafe perceives Mr. Bean and Teddy as its stars and suns' axis, no wonder there is a sense of uncanniness to it.

Mr. Bean seems to have a fondness for mille crepe cakes. (Piling the sheets up, the audacity to recreate into a cake.) An extent it is mildly eccentric. Trio chocolate mille crepe, who says mille crepe can't be gorgeous ombre gradient cake, 3 in 1 mille crepe, a vanilla, chocolate, strawberry mille crepe, new strawberry mille crepe, french chestnut mille crepe, yam & red bean mille crepe, green tea & red beans mille crepe, roasted peanut & blueberry mille crepe. Teddy is out now?

Beantastic Mille Crepe (SGD 8.80)

It tops up anything else you like, Singapore flag, Hari Raya Haji on the English icons- making it the first livin' up to name wanderlust-confronting British-inspired Mr. Bean cafe opened in Singapore.

We'd deduce the cake red, orange, yellow, green, blue, pink and purple replacing indigo and violet. However because this is a mille crepe (millefleurs/mille-feuille, chocolate of a thousand leaves) many crepes, as one enjoys the cake one unearths rolls of colour that happens when to be not the 7The mille crepe cake is dressed the chocolate rainbow cake way, instead of cream cheese rainbow cake, with chocolate sprinkles and berries.

Each lightly toasted crepe layer comes in vanilla flavour and are separated by cream that is not overtly sweet. Tasting more of mille crepe and less of ?rainbow.

P.S. Rainbow do not do 7, but in 14 in a mille crepe- red, bright red cream, orange, yellow cream, yellow, equally yellow cream, green, gaspingly blue-green cream, blue, luxe aqua cream, pink, soft pink cream, purple, same pink cream.

Sunny

No photo is needed to show how quaint, peculiar, rustic the area is. Well (because) it is Provence Bakery & Cafe(, Petit Provence), we clutch an idea of how it is like, custard, chocolate and kaya, the traffic light(-stopping) colours of wassants, everything you need to know about Provence.

Melon Pan

It is necessary now because melon pans were suppose to look but not coloured like this. Aping melons in a melon soda, or the result of a Japan meet Hong Kong-distant anpan of yore?

P.S. Adroit hands, how it was passed to the counter was also how your bread tasted like. Lightweight, milky, stretchy, even if no(or less) milk was associated with pans in the first place. Meeting the distinctive chop of wassants or Petit Provence from Japan.

If not for the purple shrooms-creative@Tim Ho Wan

Sunny

Trails of sign giving away a sprawling skyscraper HK in the Singapore high-end shopping mall are businessmen and men lugging takeaway packs of white with imperial jade stamps. That friendly emblazon we snuggle with TimHoWan. Through the course new conceptions for dim sum are sprinkled, into materials like beancurd roll, wanton, dace fish balls.

The 4 Heavenly Kings of Tim Ho Wan; if you hadn't heard of are inscripted with H. The char siew baked bun, its turnip cake, steamed Malay cake, and rice roll with pig's liver. The Baked Bun with BBQ pork has a sugary crispy crust and a sweet char siew interior.

There has never been such a tiny menu! Classics to hold its belt. Is this still a congee? Congee with Lean Pork, Century Egg & Salted Egg is chock full with ingredients the simmered rice is disappearing under the overwhelming ratio of half raw meat hunks and wobbly century egg and salty yolk.

Vegetable Beancurd Skin Roll with Wintermelon Sauce (SGD 4.00)

New Steamed Item which launched my ship. Tim Ho Wan is brave enough to pair red carrots, spinach and purple cabbages into a warm, tantalizing coleslaw. The transparent wintermelon sauce is like wine, whittling the rough edges of the coloured greens and tasting as beautiful as it looks.

Albeit heavy on the salt, shrimps are frequent on the menu if you are a shrimp|don't take shrimp person. {Prawn dumpling, pork dumping with shrimp.} The Dumpling Teochew Style has vegetables, carrots, and peanuts for a vegan surprise. {Tim Ho Wan} try harder next time(?). Wow us with magical shroom fountain or blue shoots.

P.S. Purples, oranges, whites and greens chopped and neatly packed into a circle, it is like a popiah made from a rare out-of-this-world winter wonderland.

G(red) velvety taste- from MK Levure Naturelle

Sunny

MK Levure Naturelle is churning bread. Not cakes red velvet cake. It has been quite a family. Cake, hot cocoa, doughnut, crepe. Now (what), MK's toast loaves are buy a pair at stunted price, try one in red velvet(?).

Red Velvet (SGD 2.80)

The deepened, seasoned red is what is seen and tastes or you knows of red velvet. A ginger surprise is cheese inside, the less matured creamy, European asian selection.

P.S. The favourite sakura. The flower which can be made into mochi, bread, cheesecake, onigiri, pastries. Red velvet which can be made into ice cream batter, bread, biscuit, waffle, beverage. No one else has been it colour which has been transformed into a flavour.

So much for [potatoes]-@ Takashimaya Food Fest

Cloudy

It is a good hail of a purple sweet potato haven. 2 japanese sweet potatoes for SGD12 (take it or not(?)), 1 for SGD6. Korean sweet potato squares in glaze and honey, and this.

Karinto manju with sweet paste (SGD 1.80)

{(When I already had roasted japanese sweet potatoes), do we still need this purple potato with purple flesh(?)}. Quite a clouding thing glistening hard mochi-esque on the exterior, you take a bite of the cake dough seasoned exquisitely with black sugar, deep fried to a crisp with the outermost layer fluffy with oil. A sweet jam fills the inside. Beaming from the chef, he calls the shots at 50 a day. (Day 1 {when I was there}, it was sold out.)

P.S. Whether sweet potato|purple potato|black sesame or bean jam paste, in black or brown sugar; it is satiating to know {in your stomach} deep-fried, but (not so) simple and honest the sweet is prepared carefully and earnestly as japanese wagashi

What flows your sand?-Contemporary@ CJade Kitchen

Sunny

{When you read one of the limbs of Crystal Jade Enterprise has new (?)flowy buns nesting in steamer baskets}. The colours of roe. Crab roe (orange), egg custard (yellow) and century yolk (purple)

Assorted Custard Steamed Bun (SGD 4.40)

Reminds me of this. The embraced and turned glamourous dim sum becoming customizable as if the colour {you have chosen} speaks forth your personality type. It has so many names and rather mind-bending. Custard bun, molten salted egg yolk bun, golden lava custard.

P.S. The sweet corn (yellow) is like custard. The grassy fragrance of the grain tossed on the yellow skin and into a paste with custard inside. The yam (purple) is like custard bun. Deli taro on the outside and core of the purple, the meaty yam, custard(?). Only the salted egg yolk (orange) was custard bun|molten salted egg yolk bun|golden lava custard. A headier balance of sweet and savoury for the filling, the custard|egg|lava pickled nicely to be tender and not regrettably busted and run or rich.

Hokkaido ✈ sg cake?- Bakery Cuisine@Taka Food Fes

Night

Takashimaya Food Fest 2014
of course you will have to leave some money here. At Bakery Cuisine, the enormous eggnogs in their paper liners makes you more susceptible to consumerism, (in their different crackled textures and gingham colours) because this is a food festival.

Pandan (SGD 6.00)

Whilst an array of mashed chiffon and cubes for sampling, the kiwi green is enquired and it is pandan. Peeling the strip of cardboard holding the cake together, 3 quarters of it is a bright smurf terry cloth-green. (We have more self shots with it in green in other devices.) Texture like cotton, but as though steam or toast flat on the green or soapy, vanillin smell.

P.S. A chiffon cake. Cloaked under a muffin top and toilet roll 9" bundt tin, cake pan and baking cup. Some people does this. Elegant pandan\orange\coffee chiffon with holiday toppings in the 21st century.

Ichigos makes sweet & sour fish@ Mr.Obanyaki

Cloudy

Number 36 (Japanese foods we can't live without out of 45) the fish.

Strawberry (SGD 1.80)

Seasonally, like Japan streets proper, where it(taiyaki) comes in traditional flavours. The ichigo?

That is not mochi inside. Rather, like strawberry milk sundae or yogurt & fruit Campino candies it is white chocolate softened to go with the strawberry waffle. The American shack way like hungry, yaki hunger.

P.S. Where buttermilk goes entrepreneurially with squid ink, hot cake red velvet or even biscuit and scones milk and butter, this chewy thinned out version is no weakling, strawberry spikes the waffle akin soda besides colour. One just feel like casting the net wide and fetching more home to say see the lively fishes, the Obanyaki serves fish Japanese style where it not only specializes in one thing.

Blue flower-(Flor Patisserie) asgoodas green tea

Fair

Sweet darling of July (what would we do without it) because such tempest or reverie wouldn't have happened. [Inserts photo editing effect and light colour template because it is Flor Patisserie {whorls}, mobile image hosting worthy] on its handles and cabinets. Must have been the second sakura why, a blue season when they have a pink season and public about it where periodically cakes start to appear and be decked in it (mostly snowskin).

 Blue Donut (SGD 7.40)

So far we hadn't had anything to do with blue butterfly pea flower, teas and milk lattes and nonya kuehs and mid-autumn festival cakes aside? The blue is the wild call's way of indicating danger, tasting as unusual as jasmine or rose hips, flower scented mousse, beauteous extract of the flower itself butterfly pea.

P.S. There are three layers in this donut and the mousse is exquisite with a touch of honey and flower. The center vanilla curd is smooth and refreshing, spooned into the donut. Not to forget a bed of charming japanese sponge and crushed pistachios.

Mango and lime- Brasilia Green Cone from McDonald

Sunny

Last season's on the palette colour was pink. Now it is applied felt tip pen green.

Mango Flavour Burst (SGD 1.00)

Its not about the burst, really. Ok introducing new flying droplets after so many past break aparts from fruit to tropical orange to kopi to butterscotch. Cool but yet to be weathered with vanilla and biscuits {because of the the banana kick} the sweet and rich mango. It was vaguely resemblant of one concoction, evaporated milk and fresh mangoes maybe, or the McDonald's Mango Peach Sundae but more to a mellow peachy tone in cone.

P.S. After cone cartridges stored by the side, like firearms stowed in your strap which the Macs employee pull them out in pink, you thought there'd be two rows but there's no even inquiry into you just wafer, this time round its another tower in green, no plain/default/colourless/wafer/brown no matter high and low you look around the dessert kiosk. Complimentary the Basilica cone because in the fever. [One wanted to choose the Vanilla Cone,] actually.

The purple work(s)-out- fab 6 pax from Swee Heng

Night

Bread from one of the most prepossessing places of the earth. (Or is it one of the most prepossessing bread.)

Swee Heng. The contender of branded packages that local toilers are carrying, from SBS bus transport to circle line. No matter where we are going, we like to take along a piece home.

Blueberry (SGD 2.30)

It is cake, not bread. Who would have giftedly thought of smearing birthday cake-cream on thickly bread. (Firstly, it is humongous purple fuchsia, you have promptly associated to the wrath of the yeast and upturning into something more decadent.) There's a shapeliness of barley upon getting on the purple, blueberry perhaps and the blueberry jam betwixt the cream smashed like birthday is sweet and bold of blueberry. The duo combination of jam and buttercream is like the stomach of some wedding cake.

P.S. That possessing dual purple and pink ringlets of daisies, again. {Like how one can't tell between green or blue until the clover finishes its leaves turquoise:} for that reason you are duped it is cake

Toast that ties-flower-next-door@Ya Kun Toastwich

Fine

We want  it. The Horlicks frostyz, mocha frostyz, coffee frostyz, green tea frostyz (with red beans). Over The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf or Starbucks on another day. Somehow, only Milo frostyz was not tried before. Or tea frostyz.

They are premium ice-blends full on the powder, to a coffee connoisseur as a frappe alternative in the coffee culture. Ya Kun spreads the local even more with a Toastwich or every store, supplying curry potato, rendang chicken, laska, mee rebus and bites.

Bandung Frostyz (with whipped cream) (SGD 5.20)

It is a flavourful and powerful ice-blend with rich whipped cream, like buttercream and familiar bandung (evaporated) milky rose syrup drink. The chunky red beans are said to be fresh.

P.S. The ♥-friendly kaya pistachio cookies, kaya balls, steamed bread, you know we'd like to try them next time.

Bluebry cray cry- Blueberry Taste from Glico Pocky

Night

It is not blue, but at least what we know what it is.

Glico Thai Pocky Blueberry (SGD FOC)

Glico has toyed a few with it. The Tsubu Tsubu, meaning flakes of the blue berry, the Bits (blueberry), the real blue China blueberry, Pocky Blueberry, but this one you are attempted to sample the berries because the sleekness has rendered them palatable different from the other purpleberries subsidiary in desserts and with real blueberry flakes.

Is essentially what one consumes every morning which is great nested with some gruel or dairy and there are specks of the real one on it.

P.S. Blue or purple? The purple which can not be told purple or pink. The green which could not be told blue or green. That perpetual cat and mouse game with the musty berries, to present as it is or it named; why, nature send us a blue flower.

Snow white- cookies'n'creme queen from Pepero

Sunny

Looks hopeful due to the Pocky Chocolate Banana. Or Pocky Panda. Dark coloured lumbers or the base which is set cocoa.

Lotte Pepero White Cookie (SGD 1.50)

Lotte appears to be too. Cream on a fancy black stick. However when Oreo gets fashioned into Pocky morphs it is the other way conversely. Cookies get stuck dunked into a bed of white, when tossed into milk.

The cookies behave like crush, as in Pepero Almond or Pocky Bits series. One now pardons it as white cookie or white chocolate fitted into the frame of a Pocky. The white chocolate/white cookie/milk is interchangeable and overpowering with vanilla which the whole cookie can be said to taste of Oreo the sandwich cookie.

P.S. Cookies and cream/creme is such a pimp and princessy title one imagines black diamonds gleaning from an opaque
background. How Hershey's had been the spearhead. Because we remember there is no creame if without the cookie.

Good as gold- Green & Gold from Tic Tac

Sunny

A huge fruit juice bar promotion, it is hard not to miss them by the cashier. (Though not the first time) double packs, Tic Tac are green and yellow. We have wrestled with them in concentrates.

Tic Tac Green & Gold Mints (SGD 1.80)

Emerging from its menthol precursors, Tic Tac (mint), the passionfruit is heady and sweet. So was the green apple.(Probably you had forgotten the three musketeers of tic tac were freshmints, orange and powermint, not green.)

P.S. Some of my friendly sentiments with the capsules. Yes, green apple and passionfruit are good with pink grapefruit.

Chew on this- TNCC's Smoothie Chews

Sunny

Just imagine the less glitzy, kamikaze of Hi-Chew. Similar blow glass centerpieces, with their molten inner cores of purple (lychee) or red (strawberry). It is but green, with a pink center for this. Smoothie Chews of The Natural Confectionery Company, and there are two fruits in a sweet.

Smoothie Chews (SGD FOC?)

On the other side is If you could be a singer or musician who would it be? Well, drawing? Depends on what is your definition of special. Penguin, me, there is no song, thought I told you already.... Get together with some unwrapping.

P.S. The average dollar coin mint for your thoughts. Smoothie Chews makes no time unutilized, you can think about your life while you are chewing.

Tropical paradise for winter- Pocky mango & pineapple

Cloudy

You know one is not a fan of orange. Not the cosmic yellow, happy all-teeth and smiles, sunshine kind.

 Pocky Tropical (CAD 2.50)

It is seeded with some attractiveness, there. A we want to see mango, and a been a while no see pineapple. Cocktailic pineapple to stitch up any shortcoming of mango. The foods in orange are always sweet, a need for sakura's replacement?

P.S. It not only promises orange, but magnolia, garlands and lens flare. An all-rounded rainbow orange. There was a time one wanted to narrate the entire history and processions of yuzu. Just, one time.

(?)fishy pink- Canada's Goldfishes Vanila Cupcake

Sunny

So pretty right. (Yup we know the whalehead has been staring at us for months already. Onto tram, coach, taxi, planes, foot, camerabag, whatsoever. Almost batteredbeer.)

Goldfish Vanilla Cupcakes Graham (CAD 3.65)

Why it is in French and sakura is because tiny view from a hamster, the confetti from the cupcake in Montreal are totalitarian and sexist, it is pur pink(!). Hence the fish gets rubbed in shiny scales of rogue pearlized sugar. {Our memory foam pillows recall goldfish snacks quad-colour (in blue, green, orange, dark red), somehow here, here, and a missing here.}

P.S. Reading, it is FRUIT AND VEGETABLE JUICE CONCENTRATES FOR COLOUR PINK- they are thanking radish, pumpkin, tomato, apple, sweet potato, cherry. Baked with real vanilla extract*. No wonder a marked pink singled out for sprinkles on your cupcake to discriminate. It tastes no dissimilarity from the peas in the pod of tropical vanilla fish, {grahams, yes when they are sweets no more crackers} but now you know the difference flashing pink.

Tic-Tac-(toe)- XOXOs for Her yearly Ferrero

Sunny

Yup we keep seeing it.

Tic Tac Pink Grapefruit (CAD 3.68)

Isn't it expensive, if it is a matchstick box size or jumbo less miserable (of 49g) of fresh mints. Why shoulder such loot? A poignant tale beneath the champagne champignon pink is it is only available in the months turning winter, and chosen to be offered in pharmacies where automatic teller machines churn out notes big for you to settle your school insurances (4 digits) and to foot the pink ribbon foundation. The ladies' favourite fruit {slimming} their more hypnotic variety (pink), and their cause. There has never been a Tic Tac sweeter than this (we know it is menthol, alright).

P.S. 100 mints(or 100%). Menthe their preferred taste not so sweet, sourish and bitter mints not sweets so retaining repairing properties. Tear off those sugar daddies shell once more; why they find it so special: powdered acerola (cherry) extract, powdered pink grapefruit juice and carmine for their colour, pink.

So(y)black, so(y)fine- Q_Q @ QQ Soyabean

Sunny

The sun has been draining the fluids out of one. Hence, drinking something solid.

Black Bean Beancurd (SGD 2.00)

You walk around and see that even beans (or is it curds) aren't in their innocent whites. The beancurd treat is still silky and sweet of legume soya pudding dessert, just you knew that it was made from beans meaty with a shiny, black coat.

P.S. New black bean drink and beancurd, when QQ Soyabean makes it from 100% quality beans, 100% black beans black? Not as shadowy as one thought but it was a good time spent how original beancurd will look like made from black beans, and eaten it in finely silken and cold pressed tofu. Curd is the same thing as cows, when running out of white cows then using black cows to draw milk?
