Oz (Wizards &) Day 1: All Asian cafes

This year was Hello Kitty. Next 2018 March would be Little Twin Stars. Didn't expect Singapore Changi Airport to adopt, and continue be aligned in the Sanrio theme.

It was not me who'd spot, Ms White's ribbons hanging in Christmas wreaths or giant pipe cleaners in place of baubles, but Changi Singapore's determination to make it a Sanrio Christmas.

Complimentary dessert from our in-flight meal (! As you know I like to "collect" ice-cream tubs as a memorabilia kid who). This was paid out of my own pocket air fare, understanding me, it started out as a financially focused trip not until you reach end of the story.🤮Who on earth still blogs nowadays, by the way?

The ice cream shouldn't be called 'caramel biscuit & cream', it should be named 'Speculoos' because it tasted just like.. Speculoos? I tried to lend a detailed description of what Speculoos was to my unsuspecting plane passenger, but ended up having to look up on search engines the origins, what it means, etc.

Thank goodness for pizza just beside our hotel hostel! We had bounced from nothing (for dinner), to tacos, vegetarian. Pizza here feels very much like bread, ingredients not quite amalgamated together, nonetheless fresh, and the dough fat and fresh.

The gourmet flavour with prawns and garlic. One of the better pizzas I've had out there.

Many chopped garlic.

7am Sydney. It's surreal when morning lights are full of magick, and so bright outside despite break of dawn.

Many, many flyers of our hostel denouncing how happening and artsy {and your choice is} it embodies.

Surry Hills Hotel, Ashfield Hotel, Petersham Hotel, Kirribilli Hotel. Oh Surry Hills, you are just but another place.

Beautiful morning colours around Surry Hills.

Uber Eats, unknown food delivery service, foodpanda, deliveroo. All my familiar favourite eats!

Mind me as I dig into the morning Sydney weather.

Trees that you most likely see along Woolloomooloo, who am I kidding?

This was the first of my encounters to street graffiti in Australia, more to come in least of expected areas.

A pleasant morning in a perfect cafe, our first stop: Petal Met Sugar! Purple flowers alongside the highway juxtaposes greatly with the pink flowers in the cafe. Later would we realise tis the season for violet flowers.

Yoghurt (SYD 11.50)

Yogurt with freeze-dried raspberries and coconut.

Banana Bread (SYD 6.00)

The espresso butter and honey-infused mascarpone which got me ranting every day when I'm back..

Salted Caramel (SYD 7.50) and Brownie (SYD 4.50)

We are in for a treat! Having a slice of banana bread, salted caramel tart, popcorns, and brownie with walnuts and pure dulce de leche(caramel?) for breakfast.

When we were almost done, the staff recommended the fresh from the oven matcha cronuts to us. No! Resist ourselves. Tastes more like creamy kaya.

Petal Met Sugar is a florist cum bakery, one of the lesser seen concepts in Singapore's cafes, and I reckon to be the mother of inspiration for cafes all around the globe where every meal can be high tea.

Exceptionally green lawns in eastern Australia.

Loving the vibes at Calabur Café & Diner by Bondi. Maybe it's the staff, the neighbouring diners, or just the location.

An orthodox on its own, western setting, exotic orient, japanese brews.

Rich fuel to get us through the day. Vitamin SeaCCaffeine.

Vermicelli Noodle Salad (w raw salmon) (SYD 18.00)

Poke bowl with rice swapped with vermicelli noodles and swathed in a tasty homemade peanut sauce.

Uncle Ray's Salad (SYD 17.00)

Sydney Calabur Cafe & Diner attempts to feed me like a rabbit! With its fresh and modern outlook, the restaurant incorporates sous vide cooking in all its food- sous vide prawns, sous vide salmon, 75°C egg, and sous vide chicken breast here. Ugh, and more oranges.

Granola Fruit Market (SYD 15.00)

My first experience with Pooh's honey stick. Accidentally made a video out of it and the grandma beside me couldn't help to stop and stare.

Green Bowl (SYD 15.00)

A smoothie made out of kale, spinach and mint. And more slices of orange.
