Stories overheard all over Singapore. Let's say its like this. With the encroachment of franchises and modernities, yet a slip of an old-school shop remains. Mama shop- garlands, sun-dried bulbs, gunny sacks and egg cartons. Amidst the heavy spicy scents, eggs are sat like chequerboards. Pale blue/green, white, pale blue/green, white. Breath-taking.
Some of them were picked home. Difficulty in engaging with the shopkeeper- how do I buy the eggs/they are sold for/which one is chicken/duck/why is it green. (Just put them in hot water for eating/they are cooked already.)
Egg (SGD 0.60 per egg)
Extremely salty, even if you sandwich them between plain white bread. No planta needed.
P.S. We have been selling green eggs all along and now you come and ask me why it is green.
