Black Light

20 August, 2010

How do you make up retro in three words? Yellow mosiac lamps. The more capricious its design, for example gothic black oaks or pink lilies, the more the place lights up like old wine. Historic dwells hang up some of the out-of-stock lamps, them growing up with Swensen's.

We can only see them, or hope to appear striding into one of Swensen's outlets. From a new outlet point of view, black hasn't been so unabashed in Swensen's; looking like black and red leafs from one point of the lamp. They remind me of The Red Shoes fairy tale.

Waffle Dream (SGD 8.90)

Swensens chinese name is called two sheng. Sheng attributing to the sun of sundaes. Meaning: it is a place for desserts. Well no; go try its old-fashioned waffles even, the presentation alone amounting calories to the eye!

P.S. Outrageous sundaes aside, the first let-out of the camp was crunchie cone. Then was the chendol sundae, and durian sundae during two of the after the papers-day. For christmas it was brownie, the beginning of City Square Mall frozen yogurt. Mudpies in a Chinese Chinatown, the other mudpie another day. One day even the chocolate covered banana; recently the sizzling pan. And savoury ice cream not to forget. And green crunchie cones. So finally, today, it is the waffle dream. So far there was not one that did not satisfy.
