Green Dim sum

28 April, 2010

On my favourite hideout well-proportIONed constructION Orchard, who can miss out on the hoity toity amidst contrived necessities? The Luk Yu Restaurant and Teahouse lured with the man-Sage of Tea and what he left behind- amongst the busy organized stall facade something else.

Shark's Fin Dumpling Soup (SGD 6.00)
Tea, that tea infused with dumpling skin would leave them a translucent fluorescent green.
And why through all the trouble? Just like why to shark's fin; why to dumplings flat-out in soup.

Golden Sand Bun (SGD 2.50)
Shapely as be, they provoke a childhood's itinerary: adults in cantonese houses with kids-in-tow; not figuring anything, not understanding anything, only to wave madly in the air upon the arrival of the long, last order sickly-love golden custard buns.

P.S. Mantou is not bao; a mantou is a steamed bun with no fillings. 灌汤饺 is not 小笼包; thin, unbready steamed unbun with no juicier filling; a dumpling flat out in tear drop.
